Becoming a Member

Dear WCI Members and Supporters,

I am honored to serve as President of the oldest civic organization in the Coachella Valley.  Our organization has assisted our community for 105 years in helping those in need and encouraging our young women to become whatever they strive to be in their life.

The best way to be a part of any organization is to help the organization succeed.  We have numerous opportunities to utilize our member’s skills, and everyone has skills.  Whether you like organizing things, greeting and interacting with people, chatting on the phone, writing notes, mentoring young women, or helping at events throughout the community, there is a place in our organization for you.

We have many dedicated committees where you can share your talents and interests.  We reach out to our community by helping women in domestic violence situations, tending to the less fortunate through the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, guiding teen girls through Ophelia Project, helping the local Coachella Valley Historical Museum, awarding scholarships, and participating in the Read Across Indio program to name a few.

My goals in serving as your president are to welcome each member, serve the community according to our mission statement, and increase our volunteer hours to continue our tradition of dedicated service to the residents of Indio.

Bonnie Tucker
